Counsilman-Hunsaker was commissioned to design a world-class aquatic complex for the renovation of the Ford Community Performing Arts Center. The City of Dearborn’s objective was to add contemporary amenities to the facility, including an expansive natatorium with multi-purpose pool that would allow for a wide range of public programs and local athletic team use.
This award-winning 15,000 sq. ft. aquatic center includes water attractions designed to appeal to a variety of ages including:
3,750 sq. ft. Leisure Pool • Dual double drop slide that either provides a speedy drop into the competition pool or steadier zigzag down to the leisure pool • ADA-accessible zero-depth entry • Interactive play features • Vortex with underwater seating • Elevated spa
3,450 sq. ft. Competition Pool • 25-yard lap pool with six lanes • Two 1-meter diving boards • Deck level seating, accommodating 150 spectators
